? A Brief History of Coffee
Legend has it that coffee was discovered by an Ethiopian goat herder named Kaldi, who noticed his goats becoming energetic after eating red berries from a certain shrub. From Ethiopia, coffee spread to the Arabian Peninsula, where it became a cultural staple. By the 15th century, coffee houses (or qahveh khaneh) emerged in the Middle East, and from there, coffee spread to Europe and the rest of the world.
Today, coffee is cultivated in over 70 countries, with Brazil, Vietnam, and Colombia being the top producers.
